Vice President
Filza is currently working as a Mortgage Finance officer, and in training for "Lending Manager" at Ocwen Financial, one of the leading Mortgage Finance organizations in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters in Sociology and a minor in Women Studies in 2015. Her previous education includes a bachelors in BBA, Marketing. She has experience working with UN Women projects and other UN funded projects globally as a project coordinator. Filza has experience marketing for various non-profit organizations globally including international project "dance 4 life".
Filza has been in Marketing and Leadership roles with various professional organizations. She has recently been added to the IMWISE Dallas Chapter as a Marketing Chair. Filzawas also 'Marketing Chair' and part of the AMPD executive team in 2017. She has previously been involved in various professional student organizations such as the Professional Leadership Program (PLP), World Echoes (Global organization), International Student Committee etc. Filza enjoys being active and involved in the community and plans to add a positive impact everywhere she goes.

Hamiz Awan
Treasurer
Hamiz is the Managing Partner at Plutus21 Capital. He heads the alternative asset investments for the fund that is based out of Dallas, TX. He graduated with a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist
University Cox School of Business, focusing on alternative asset management and statistics.
Hamiz was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan where he was involved in philanthropic and entrepreneurial work. He has successfully run multiple startups and nonprofit organizations.
Hamiz’s favorite activities outside of work are cooking, traveling, public speaking, teaching and philanthropy.
Sumbel Aurangzeb
Communications Director
Sumbel is excited to serve as the 2018-2019 AMPD Communications Director. Her interests include working with immigrant and lower income communities, international relations, and politics. Her educational background includes a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas, with a focus on Public Administration, Political Science, and Journalism. She recently completed the American Muslim Civil Leadership Institute's (AMCLI) Southern Regional Program, and she currently provides social media marketing services for a variety of organizations.
She has worked with a number of Non-Profits in the DFW area including the International Rescue Committee, CAIR, Catholic Charities, and the Center for Survivors of Torture. She is a former Government Affairs and Communications Coordinator, where her work was focused on the needs of minority communities in DFW. She has worked extensively in the legal field as well, where she provided administrative and translating services for clients. She's a former board member of the Iranian American Chamber of Commerce, Sand Sumbel works with the Good Citizen’s Council, an organization geared towards mobilizing voters in DFW at the local/city levels of government.
Sana Ahmed
Programming Committee Chair
Sana Ahmed holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering student with an emphasis on CAD/CAM and control systems. She attained her bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas.
She is currently working as a research assistant in collaborative projects between the College of Engineering and College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Jessica Hickingbottom

Jessica is a Certified Financial Planner™ at FullCircle Wealth where she offers clients guidance in achieving financial success through research and practice. She attained her bachelors in Finance at The University of Texas at Dallas and is currently pursuing her Masters in Finance at Harvard University.
Jessica has a passion for community service and past experience in marketing and leadership for volunteer organizations. She actively serves as a volunteer for the International Rescue Committee in Texas, helping refugees rebuild their lives in the Dallas area and the Financial Planning Association where she fosters the advancement of young financial professionals in the Dallas & Fort Worth area.
Rehan Hyder
Leadership & Development Committee Chair
Rehan Hyder started his career in broadcast news, after attending the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Journalism. Rehan’s reporting and producing at television stations in Portland, OR, Pittsburgh, PA and Dallas, TX earned accolades including four local Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow award. In 2008, Rehan trained his media skills of researching, interviewing and hustle towards technology sales. Among his sales and marketing successes include growing $6M revenue past $43M from March 2010 to January 2013, which led to the company’s acquisition.
Rehan is ardently focused on the power of media to broadcast Islam’s message of peace. He is the executive producer of Good Tree Academy’s Qur’an Connection video series. As Media Team Chair at the Islamic Association of North Texas (IANT), Rehan spearheaded efforts to livestream broadcasts inclusive of American Sign Language. He also led a groundbreaking livestream series projecting English translation in real-time during nightly Ramadan prayers recited in Arabic. Rehan leads marketing and communication efforts on the steering committee for Friends for Good, an interfaith group.
Previous volunteer activities include organizing monthly outdoor programs for a Boy Scout troop, serving as webmaster and physical fitness merit badge counselor. Rehan also chaired fundraising events in support of a local high school marching band.
